Our Story
PrepSBA was founded by two people who saw the same problem from different sides of the table.
One of us spent over a decade working inside credit unions, helping small business owners navigate the SBA loan process firsthand. What looked straightforward from the outside was anything but — mountains of paperwork, weeks of back-and-forth, and borrowers who gave up before they ever got funded. Businesses with real potential were being held back not by their ideas, but by the process.
The other founder is an engineer who saw the same friction and believed technology could fix it. The SBA loan process hadn't fundamentally changed in decades — but the tools available to streamline it had never been better. There was no reason applying for an SBA loan should feel like a second job.
Together, we built PrepSBA with a simple goal: make applying for an SBA loan easy and fast — without sacrificing the guidance that local businesses deserve. SBA loans exist to support Main Street, not Wall Street. So do we.
